This is one of the best campgrounds I have ever stayed at. This is a very large professionally run campground. The facilities are very nice. Among other pools – there is an indoor pool and hot tub as well. Have been staying here for one week every month for the last 5 months when working in the area. Most recently in mid August I bought my family for the week, and they loved it. We rented a local car (Enterprise will pick you up at the campsite) and went our separate ways- me to work and wife and kids exploring. Location is great, and you are within one hour of the Cape. I did not encounter any of the noise complaints, or drunken adults like the earlier reviews mentioned--only friendly campers around us, and the place quiets down after 9-10pm. We had a large Class A, but cooked outside--each spot has a fire ring and picnic table. The only problem I had was finding my campsite on a late arrival one pre-season night (April). The first visit to the campground I had trouble reading their provided map--my issue, not theirs, since with a campground that size I should have driven the toad around to orient myself before pulling the whole rig in. In addition they also employ some retired work campers as employees. I found them very helpful and very friendly. Yes, the phone gets busy in the summer. It is so nice a lot of the campers are Boston area people on “vacation” locally. I plan to return. One day during my June stay, one of their workers accidentally cut my water hose while cutting the grass. The main office replaced the hose and promptly called me on my cell to let me know what was going on. They could not have been nicer and more responsive. The campsite width is about average for a commercial campground. The pads are gravel, and yes, only some of the sites have cable, but the local reception is great from Boston and Providence, and some of the sites are on the edge of a field for sat reception (good shot at the sky).

I have stayed at this very small campground for the last two years during the winter season and regret not having reviewed it sooner. Yes, this is a small family run campground, but the couple that own the campground are very accommodating. They DO HAVE 30 amp service and have had that service for the last 2 years that I have stayed there. In addition they do have 50 amp service, at least in the one spot where we were parked last year. I stay here at least once and sometimes twice a month during skiing season with my kids. In a winter skiing campground (much like dry camping because there is generally no water or sewer hook up what we are looking for is either 30 or 50 amp service, and they do have both. I need the electrical service to keep my water bay warm. In addition a clean bathroom with showers is a plus but not necessary Last year they opened showers and a bathroom in the basement of the office/house. They have been very helpful to me coming up from Philadelphia to ski, providing me with accurate road conditions around the Scranton area and north to Gibson (important in a class A in the snow). The campground is very close to Interstate 81 so the roads are always good to that point, and it is only a short ride to the campground from the interstate. I call in advance, and they always have a spot for me shoveled out, and I have never had any problems getting in or out. I stay here in the wintertime to take advantage of the skiing that Elk Mountain offers. The kids love it, and there is never a long line for the lifts. I even brought a Boy Scout troop up here last year. I hope the owners can make a go of it and continue to make the changes they need. Yes, the campground is a work in progress but the willingness of the owners to work with their guests is admirable. I definitely plan to stay here regularly and very much like the couple that own the facilities.
